Capacity development of youth NGOs and other stakeholders of young people in Europe

 

Since 2004 APD is actively engaged in European youth work and realised in Georgia more than 100 projects with international youth workers and young people from all over Europe. Moreover, at the same time, APD supported the learning process of Georgian youth leaders and youth workers by providing the opportunity to attend international educational encounters in many European countries.

 

Programme objectives:

 

  • To enhance the quality of non-formal educational programmes for young people

  • To foster an exchange of methods and approaches applied in European non-formal youth education

  • Training Programme “For a Future to Come – International Youth Work on Conflict Management” on youth work as an instrument in conflict transformation, 1 Training of Trainers, 2 Training Courses, 2 Partnership-Building Seminars, 3 Youth Encounters, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Germany, Poland, United Kingdom, January 2007 – March 2009

  • Series of Study Visits in the South Caucasus “Discover the Caucasus” on youth-related themes such as human rights violations, volunteering and youth challenges in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, 3 Study Visits, more than 15 European countries, 2011 - 2013

  • Training Programme “Explore your Potential – Capacity Development for Youth Organisations and Youth Empowerment", on strengthening organizational competences for youth empowerment, 2 Training Courses, 12 European countries, October 2014 – October 2015

  • Training Programme “Active Citizens for Reconciliation” on reconciliation as an approach in peacebuilding, 2 Training Courses with an embedded research phase conducted by the participants, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, March 2015 – February 2016
